One of my goals is to find legitimate ways to make money outside of my regular job. If you do a web search, you'll find millions of websites touting difference ways to make money, but would you trust most of them? I certainly don't, but I like to test them out.
Instead of you spending time vetting ways to make money, I'll do it for you. This page will be updated as I go through each source, and I will only list legitimate websites where I've made money and actually received payment.
Full disclosure: Some of these links might earn me a referral fee if you sign up.
These site basically paid you to do something. You might have to fill out a survey or sign up for something. Either way, they need you to perform an action then they will pay you for it.
In this area I use Cash Crate. You've heard of it before. Most of the ways that you earn money on here are either for free trials, answering surveys or signing up for something. Offers on here pay anywhere from $0.10 on up. I've signed up for free trials paying $10 each. Be careful to sign up and answer surveys with an e-mail address that you will use only for such purposes because you WILL be spammed up the wazoo. The best part about this is that you can earn money when your referrals fill our surveys as well. You get 20% of their earnings and if they in turn refer people, you get 10% of their referrals as well. I don't spend more than 1 hour a month on here to earn myself an extra $20 or so. Incidentally, they pay out once you reach $20.

Twitter
Making money on Twitter is quickly evolving. The way for you to make money on Twitter is by having someone sponsor a Tweet for which they will pay you for each click. It's not much, but it can add up. I'm really cautious about these things because I like to keep my tweets on point so I reject the vast majority of sponsors. But, that's me. You might not be so picky.
I am currently using Sponsored Tweets. They don't have many sponsors on here that I would approve, but I guess it's getting better. So far I've earned between $0.02 to $0.08 per click that my sponsored tweet generates. You can charge based on the number of followers that you have. I've just been told to increase my quote price to $0.12. I've only sent out 2 tweets with this service and always designate that my tweets were sponsored. You also have the ability to earn money from referrals. When a tweeter signs up using one of your links or badges you will receive 10% of Sponsored Tweets portion of revenue for each successful transaction that Tweeter makes. If you sign up an advertiser you will earn 5% of Sponsored Tweets earnings for each transaction they make. You can cash out once your account reaches $50.
Somewhere along the line I realized that all the websites above are basically just sharing their advertising revenue with me. It's fine, I guess, but why can't I do the same? I'm in the process of setting up my own affiliate network, but in the meanwhile, you can earn some money from me in the next few minutes. Using the same principles. If I have an advertiser willing to pay me for your free trial, I will list it here and will also list what your payment is, as well as any payment terms.
In order to earn the amount above, you must sign up for the free trial listed below. You must go through the entire process including confirmation in order to qualify. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to cheapskate[at]yesiamcheap[dot]com or use the contact form to let me know that you would like to take advantage of the current offer as well as the e-mail address where you receive PayPal payments. I will send you a link with a unique code that will help me identify YOU specifically. Upon my confirmation from the advertiser that you have signed up for the free trial (usually 24 hours) I will send you $5. If you don't want to be charged after the trial ends, remember to cancel before the end of the trial period. I don't have the ability to reverse any charges if you don't since this is with an advertiser.

I just signed up for Ad.ly, and it's basically the same as Sponsored Tweets. The one difference here is that you can also use this service for MySpace as well. Ad.ly also pays you for referrals. You will earn 12% of everything they make on Ad.ly. So far, they have my rate set at $0.08. Again, it's based on how many followers that you have and I don't have much. They pay out at $50 as well.
